Prepare Your Home
- Secure outdoor furniture and decorations.
- Trim trees and remove dead limbs.
- Clear gutters and storm drains.
- Fuel your vehicles before a storm arrives.
- Review your homeowners and flood insurance policies.
- Photograph your home and valuables for insurance purposes.

Monitor weather conditions and emergency information through trusted sources.

Evacuation Preparedness
If local officials issue an evacuation order:
- Leave as early as possible.

- Take your pets with you whenever possible.
Residents who need transportation or additional evacuation assistance should register with the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) before hurricane season.
During the Storm

- Never drive through flooded roads.
- Use generators outdoors only and away from doors and windows.
